Today: 11th November 2014 is an important day for us to reflect. On the unnecessary deaths, the pointlessness of war, the suffering, the impact it had on communities and our thanks to people that made sacrifices for us.
I went up to the War Memorial in the next village: Burnham Green, and although I was the only person there at 11am this morning, I was there, thinking of the men that lost their lives in the locality, as well as other brave soldiers. It made me consider how stopping and reflecting is such a powerful skill to have. As a ‘Speech and Communciations’ specialist, it might appear ironic that I advocate reflection, but there is a time and place for it, and it can be an invaluable activity.
In the latest Superstar Communicator Podcast I consider how important it is to reflect, and the benefits you can receive as a result. Taking a step back and observing a conversation; a team you are working with; even an audience, gives you information that you might not pick up on, at a conscious level. The podcast is shorter than usual, because on this important day in our history, I want to enable you to take a step back and observe. But don’t forget to reflect.
