Last week, in the Superstar Communicator podcast, I shared the best practice when you are asked to give effective feedback. Today’s podcast has a guest Speaker: Neil Simon, who shares his top tips to giving great feedback.
Neil has plenty of experience giving feedback in his role as a property strategist. He regularly has to interview candidates for specific roles; he is involved in tendering processes as well as participating in meetings. He encourages people to ask for feedback and he has creating an effective way to give feedback. His top tips include:
- Focus on the positives
- Then focus on a couple of areas where the candidate/interviewee could improve so that next time they do better
- It is okay to reference competitors (without naming them) to compare their performance and why they might have won a tender.
In February, Neil is sharing his top tips about meetings: chairing meetings, being an effective contributor, managing meetings etc. He has also created a great email top tips series. If you would like to receive this register free here.
