How to answer interview questions with confidence

I am often asked how to answer interview questions with confidence. Well like anything else it requires some preparation; particularly if you are going for a very senior role. As you know I always like to be able to provide answers to questions, and this particular podcast interview is no exception.

I am delighted to have interviewed Headhunter and leadership recruitment expert Simon Childs for the Superstar Communicator podcast. Simon generously shared some incredible content for us. Listen to the podcast here:

The interview includes many many gems but here is a summary of some of the top tips.

  • Avoid having coffee before the interview; you will be ‘hard wired’ and it might prevent you having clarify and focus.
  • Arrive early at the interview, then you don’t have to worry; you can relax and get into the zone for the interview.
  • 10 minutes before the interview, switch off your phone and really focus on your interview.
  • Put together some examples of the good work you have done; case studies; problem solving; figures etc that can demonstrate your credibility for the job

There are many other points from the interview – and it is worthwhile taking 30 minutes out of your schedule to listen to it.
