I ask Pete Komolafe how to talk about money in the latest Superstar Communicator Podcast. Financial conversations are perceived as ‘rude’ or ‘impolite’ yet money worries or lack of financial security cause so much stress.
In this amazing interview, Pete shares SO much information and ideas about money conversations. Financial Education is not included at school, and unless you have parents who discuss this with you, it can be easy to have your first lesson on finance when you max out your credit card as an adult. Who do you speak to for advice? Pete says that financial planning is no longer offered in banks and Independent Financial Advisors, who are self employed, are reluctant to speak to people unless they have £50K. Pete’s advice includes:
- How to start a money conversation
- How important it is to talk about money as part of your conversations with family and partners
- Understand what your life goals are and how much money you might need to achieve this.
- How financial worries really impact your wellbeing and how essential it is to seek support to talk about this.
